medieval ??

  1. Actually, Medici Family was not existed in medieval. Medieval was the age of kings. The family rose in early renaissance and a lot of family member took a role in the renaissance. Da Vinci, Boticelli, Donatello, until Galileo Galilei had the Medicis supported them.

When finally they withdrew their support when Galileo Galilei faced trial in Vatican, that was when the family deviated from Renaissance path.

My point was, the existence of Indonesian family you hate was actually the sign of progress. In previous time, there was only one family in power, The Cendana. Now, we have more family, and it became oligarchy. It is exactly what happened in the Renaissance. Latter, people will aware their right and learn how not to be dependent to those family.

Note that even in US, there are still powerful families. It is part of the nature.
